Marta Nadolle

Marta Nadolle studied at both the Warsaw and Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts. She works with photography, installation and film, but above all with painting, which she treats as a medium for recording her intimate, visual notes. In her paintings, Nadolle depicts herself in everyday situations, telling the story of her relationships with others, alienation, the search for love, and sadness. Sometimes, the artist includes a short text, usually a single sentence uttered by her. Juxtaposed with the visual representation, this creates an additional self-ironic commentary, but also gives the situation a universal meaning. In Nadolle's paintings, the detail perishes dispersed by decisive brush strokes and the carrier of emotions is the composition of colours.
